Lifetime Business & Economics Of Highest Grosser Ever CHENNAI EXPRESS
"Chennai Express" released with humongous
expectations and with few biggies were following it, a big lifetime
business looked tough. But not only film crushed every subsequent
release but also captured the tag of the highest grosser ever. On the
way, film surpassed almost every record in book.
Film was rock steady for almost a month and managed to collect 226 cr nett plus in 6 weeks.
Film will finish with 226.50 cr nett lifetime total at domestic box
office with a share of 126 cr All India. Film became 3rd biggest grosser
in overseas with 116 cr and might become highest grosser in future with
next phase of release.
Film had also got good ancillary revenues from satellite rights, home video and music video.
Film established Shahrukh Khan as numero uno at box office and again
established the fact that genre is always bigger than star. Be it Salman
or Akshay, every one got success with massy entertainers not with
romantic or period drama and when SRK returned to same he too got
success and in a way biggest success.
