Bollywood is abuzz with the revival plans of Sanjay Gupta’s ‘Alibaug’ on the cards . The film, which is reportedly the story of a director's life and friendship, is being fine tuned for release.

As per reports, the scenes of Sanjay Dutt, who plays the main character in the movie, will remain as it is.

‘Mumbai Saga’, another gangster trilogy, is also in the pipeline. Sanjay claims this as his most ambitious project. Set in the 80s and 90s, the movie is said to revolve around the deep rooted web of underworld, politicians, police and mill owners.

Asked about ‘Alibaug’, Gupta revealed - "I feel it is my duty to complete ‘Alibaug’. Post ‘Shootout at Lokhandwala’, there were some issues between Sanjay and me, but all of that is behind me now."

‘Alibaug’ also features R Madhavan, Dia Mirza, Sanjay Suri, Gul Panag and Mandira Bedi, among others. Gupta is keen to complete and air it in the cinemas because it's his first 'slice-of-life film' (as he's called it) and is said to be close to his heart.
