"The Lunchbox" was underdog at box office and was expected to do well in case film gets thumps up from critics resulting in strong word of mouth. Film was good over weekend but strong weekdays now ensuring decent week one number.

Film collected 1.25 cr nett on day one followed by 2.60 cr nett on Saturday which was a jump of more than 110%. Film has collected further 3.25 cr nett on Sunday taking weekend total to 7.10 cr nett which is good for such a limited release.

Film collected 1.15 cr nett on Monday followed by 1.05 cr nett on Tuesday taking 5 day total to 9.30 cr nett which is good. Film collected almost similar figure on Monday and on Friday which speaks about acceptance of film among niche audience.
