PPNH should target minimum 8-9 cr nett day one and at this moment that looks achievable. "The Lunchbox" will hope to cross 4 cr nett minimum in order to justify such a wide release.

Two films belonging to diverse genres released today along with few Hollywood films. "Phata Poster Nikhla Hero" by far is the biggest release but due to steady performance of "Grand Masti", PPNH did not get desired number of screens.
Film started well in UP, Mumbai and CI and 40% occupancy across the board
was recorded. Film looks to score good on day one and it will be easily
the biggest opener for Shahid Kapoor. But film took a hit in
multiplexes due to less number of shows. "The Lunchbox" got good number of shows in urban multiplexes.
"The Lunchbox" started slowly off the block which was expected but film will get a jump in evening due to good word of mouth and very good release. Other Hollywood releases "Rush", "Malavita" and "2 Guns" had too small release to notice on radar.
