Records Shattered - 1st Week Box Office Collection Of CHENNAI EXPRESS

CHENNAI EXPRESS Crosses 200 Cr Nett Worldwide, 150 Cr Nett At Domestic BO

"Chennai Express" continued its dream run at box office and film has crossed 150 cr nett in 7 days which is again a first. Following are the records/milestones film shattered today -

- 150 cr nett in 7 days plus preview (earlier best "Ek Tha Tiger" in 10 days)

- 1st week (7 days plus preview) collection in excess of 154 cr nett (9 day week one collection of "Ek ThaTiger" of 145 cr nett)

- Worldwide 210 cr nett plus in 7 days (new record)

- Worldwide 270 cr plus gross in 7 days (new record)

- Film surpassed lifetime domestic collection of "Dabangg", "Bodyguard" and "Rowdy Rathore" in last two days and thus becoming 5th highest grosser ever at domestic bo

Film started today morning with a bang and film had occupancy of 35% which rose to 65% by 12 noon show. Single screens were main power booster for the film and were simply outstanding all over.

Film will certainly cross 150 cr nett by end of week one which means today. As per early estimates, film should collect 17.50 cr nett though today there was so much confusion in reporting due to mayhem at cinemas so correct figure might vary by 10%.

Film will cross "Dabangg 2" tomorrow and thus it will be 4th biggest grosser of all time. But real test of film will also start tomorrow and it will be interesting to see that how much film collects with 1300 - 1400 screens in 2nd weekend.
