Ekta is crying after dismal performance of her film 'OUATIMD'.SRK crushed Ekta same way as he did with Bhansali during Saanwariya- Om Shanti Om clash.
With her biggest release
of the year, ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara’ opening to a lukewarm
box office response, Ekta Kapoor is rather pissed and holds SRK
responsible for the debacle.
It all started with the release date when SRK announced that Chennai Express will release on August 8. Ekta had set this date for her ambitious project OUATIMD.
After several meetings, negotiations and discussions, Ekta finally agreed on the other big public holiday, August 15. This was after she was assured
by the production houses that they will make way for OUATIMD in at
least 2000 halls across the country from August 15. However, things did
not happen as planned and this left Ekta fuming.
According to sources, Shobha Kapoor and Jeetendra both intervened but to no avail.
OUATIMD ended up opening in just 1600 screens; a limited release for a movie with a budget of Rs 85 crore.
“To add to Balaji's woes the halls they were given were small ones which in turn had an adverse effect on their opening day collection," said a source from the industry.
Seems like SRK crushed Ekta’s OUATIMD the same way he did with Bhansali during the famous Saawariya-Om Shanti Om clash.
