"Chennai Express" crossed 200 cr nett at domestic box office and 100 cr in overseas within two weeks which is not only record but a tough record to beat. Film has now next big record of 202 cr nett of "3 Idiots" - highest ever grosser in Bollywood.
Film should beat this record today. Though film started slowly in morning due to loss of screens but picked up from evening shows onwards. But good reviews of "Madras Cafe" pushed back this express a bit in multiplexes especially in urban centers.
Film was still good in south and central India. It means that film will stay for couple of more weeks and will add substantial numbers in 3rd week. Film has good 1000 screens to reach new heights.
As per early estimates, film should collect 2.12 cr nett today which means film has collected close to 202.60 cr nett which is notch higher than 202.45 cr nett of "3 Idiots". Film might collect higher number too depending on late evening shows.
Today or tomorrow doesn''t matter, what matter is that film has shattered all milestones and now it is highest ever grosser of Bollywood at domestic box office.
