Anurag Kashyap seems to have landed himself in a soup, with a tax evasion offence which is reportedly a non-bailable one
The
Bombay Velvet director, Anurag Kashyap seems to have landed himself in a
soup, with a tax evasion offence which is reportedly a non-bailable
one.
As
per an investigation carried out by the Service Tax Department at
Anurag Kahsyap’s Yari road office, Anurag has been found guilty of
evading service tax to the tune of Rs 55 lakhs.
He
was summoned before the Service Tax Department on 22nd August, but he
failed to make an appearance, instead sending his representative to take
care of the matter.
Deputy
Commissioner of Service Tax Department, Sameer Wankhede, confirmed -
"Yes, a case has been booked against Anurag. We are carrying out further
investigations."
With
‘Bombay Velvet’ already going over budget for Anurag due to the recent
fall in Rupee, the shooting for ‘Bombay Velvet’ may be further postponed
with the recent turn of events.
