"Madras Cafe" scored good on day one but film grew rapidly on day two riding on exceptional word of mouth coupled with great reviews. This is again an example of good content working irrespective of release size etc.
Film collected 5.17 cr nett on Friday and with jump all over film managed by 50% more taking 2nd day figure to 7.25 cr nett. Film has collected 12.42 cr nett in two days and weekend will be in the range of 20-22 cr nett which is too good.
Film has such great reports that veen after release of "Satyagraha" it will hold on to decent number of screens. Also good single screen business on day two is big thing for the film.
Film started well in overseas too with figure of 2 cr plus on day one.
