Apparently,
the upcoming 2014 political satire directed by Rajkumar Hirani, ‘P.K.’
featuring Aamir Khan, is facing legal issues. An FIR has been filed
against Aamir, the director and the other actors of the movie. The
reason for the FIR is reportedly the alleged hurting of people’s religious sentiments during the film’s shooting in Chandni Chowk area.
Objections surfaced on a scene that featured a man dressed as Lord Shiva pulling a rickshaw which had two burqa-clad women. Upon enquiry, it became clear that it was for a film shoot.
The FIR was lodged under section 295 A (injuring or defiling place of worship with intent to insult the religious of any class) and 153 A of Indian Penal Code (IPC) (promoting enmity between different groups on ground of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language) against the actors.
The satire about ‘God and godmen’ is slated to release on 6th June, 2014.
