'Ugly' is a Hindi psychological thriller and an emotional drama film written and directed by Anurag Kashyap. The film was screened in the Directors' Fortnight section at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival.

Recently there was a lot of negativity around Anurag Kashyap on Twitter when he allegedly claimed 'The Lunchbox' to be more deserving Oscar entry compared to 'The Good Road'.

Sources reveal that this was one of the reasons why the film was postponed. Anurag Kashyap did not want to release film close to his Twitter account deletion and affect his 10th directorial venture.
