Till now it was learnt that Sushant Singh opted out of his mentor Abhishek Kapoor’s ‘Fitoor’ as his dates were blocked for a Shekhar Kapur film.

But a source close to the TV-actor-turned-Bollywood-star informs that the circumstances were such that he had to leave the film. They didn’t want him to do the film so they kept postponing it till his dates clashed with another film.

What was the reason for this decision? An insider says, “Fitoor is being produced by UTV and they now want Aditya Roy Kapoor to do the film. They also produced Abhishek Kapoor’s last film so the director was not in the best position to negotiate.”

A source associated with Fitoor says, “After Aashiqui 2, Aditya is a star in his own right. This could just be a business decision. There is no conspiracy theory.”
