PIL Seeks Ban On Release Of Deepika & Ranveer Starrer 'RAM LEELA'

A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been moved in the Gujarat High Court demanding a ban on the release of the movie

Ram Leela directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone which is set to release next month seems to be in trouble.

A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been moved in the Gujarat High Court demanding a ban on the release of the movie.  Leaders of the Rajput community launched agitations in Rajkot, Bhuj and Bhavnagar on Sunday and in Ahmedabad on Monday.

Petitioner Siddhrajsinh Mahavirsinh Chudasama (32), who hails from the ‘Darbar’ community, has alleged his community has been ‘misrepresented’ in the movie.

According to the petitioner the movie portrays certain things which hurt the sentiments of Hindus. It promotes vulgarity, shows enmity between the Rabari and Darbar community and hence the activists believe that the movie shouldn’t be released in Gujarat.

The PIL is expected to be heard on October 10 and the movie, which has mostly been shot in Gujarat, is slated to release on 15 November.
