The Mast-Mast girl, Raveena Tandon has been roped by Anurag Kashyap and Vikas Bahl to play the role of a jazz singer in Anurag Kashyap's directorial venture “Bombay Velvet”.

The film is based on historian Gyan Prakash's Mumbai Fables and it is the story of how the city became a metropolis against the backdrop of love, greed, violence and jazz music. Music director Amit Trivedi has started his work on soundtracks to make it reflect 1960's Jazz era of Bollywood.

The leading lady of the film, Anushka Sharma has a double role in the film and also pitches high to be a Jazz singer in the movie. The film also stars Ranbir Kapoor, Naseeruddin Shah, Kay Kay Menon and Karan Johar, who will mark his acting debut in an antagonist role.

Though Raveena had her initial reservations, the makers managed to get a nod from her to portray this role. Ready for her second-innings in Bollywood, Raveena Tandon will also be seen in 'Shobhana's Seven Nights', where she will foray the role of a socialite, who has an affair with a younger man.
