Abhay Chopra, the grandson of BR Chopra, is working hard to revive his home banner—BR Films
The production banner faced tough times with conditions of bad debts and an ailing patriarch, Ravi Chopra, son of B R Chopra. Since then, BR Films has not been able to regain the status it enjoyed in the past. Two of the Chopra bungalows were sold off to recover debts and the production house slipped further after making the Bachchan-starrer ‘Bhoothnath’ and later ‘Babul’.
Meanwhile, Ravi's son Abhay has come forward in order to resurrect the ailing banner. As per reports, a sequel to ‘Bhoothnath’ is being put together, the shooting for which may start early next year. Also, Abhay has planned another flick, where Ranbir Kapoor is slated to pay the lead role.
B R Films had enjoyed a merituous status till ‘Baghban’ (2003) released. But after ‘Baabul’ (2006) hit the theatres, B R's son Ravi ran into huge debts and his health failed.
