PIKU Takes A Good Start, KUCH KUCH LOCHA HAI Struggles
Bollywood films have disappointed and no big films made impact in last 6 months except ''PK''. This year not a single mainstream masala Bollywood film worked and to make situation worse Hollywood biggies ''Fast & Furious 7'' and ''Avengers Age Of Ultron'' over-performed. Today two films ''Piku'' and ''Kuch Kuch Locha Hai'' are releasing of diverse genre.
''Piku'' is produced by Sony MSM and distributed by Yash Raj Films. Film released in 1600 - 1800 screens and it has opened to glowing reviews and decent occupancy. Film is solid in metros especially in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. Film has opening of 35% and it seems that with good word of mouth, film can score very good day one around 5 cr nett and it can go higher depending on evening shows.
''Kuch Kuch Locha Hai'' is another Sunny Leone starrer and has real bad reviews. Film released under 1000 screens and going by the competition at box office, film will find it tough to collect even 2 cr nett on day one. Film will be very lucky to reach this figure after poor performance of last Sunny Leone starrer ''Ek Paheli Leela''.
