Why can’t Aishwarya Rai and Katrina Kaif be friends?

Not letting bygones be bygones, Aishwarya Rai and Katrina Kaif still seem to harbor dislike for each other, though much time has passed since the alleged cold war between the two started.
The seed for mutual dislike between the two Bollywood beauties apparently lies in their former and respective relationships with Salman Khan. Now, Salman is out of the picture for Aishwarya and Katrina as well (though he still remains a good friend of Kat), but the two ladies can’t seem to move past their abiding resentment.
We hear that Aishwarya Rai and Katrina Kaif came face to face on the sets of Dhoom 3 in the US. Aishwarya, as you might know, is in the US not just to take on her new role as the ambassador of UNAIDS, but also to be by hubby Abhishek Bachchan’s side as he shoots for Dhoom 3 along with Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif. Her daughter Aaradhya Bachchan is also with Ash.
It’s learnt that on the day Katrina Kaif landed in the US to join the crew, she was a bit taken aback to see Aishwarya Rai on the sets. Now, decorum required the two to acknowledge each other’s presence, and that they did with a perfunctory smile. That was it. No hello, hi, or verbal exchange of pleasantries, indicating well that there’s no love lost between the two ladies.
And this, by the way, isn’t the first time Aishwarya has found herself in a tricky situation. A few months back, she and Abhishek Bachchan were guests at a dinner hosted by Nita Ambani. By a strange coincidence, Salman Khan was at the party with Karisma Kapoor, making the situation awkward for not just Ash but Abhi as well.
That apart, we sincerely hope that Ash and Kat kiss and make up soon. Two beauties at loggerheads don’t look pretty.
