KRRISH 3 Collects 8 Cr Nett Plus Over 3rd Weekend

‘Krrish 3’  has collected good numbers over 3rd weekend too though film dropped heavily due to release of ''Goliyon Ki Rasleela:Ram-Leela''. Film proved to be a monster hit at box office.

Release of ''''Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ram-Leela'''' has put the break on film''''s dream run. Film collected only 2.40 cr nett on 3rd Friday which is a drop of 75% from 2nd Friday. Film further added 2.78 cr nett on 3rd Saturday and 3.75 cr nett on Sunday taking 17 days total to 234 cr nett which makes it clear highest grosser.

Film should finish with 238-240 cr nett lifetime figure which is a new record but to be fair, film lost the sheen of the record due to controversy surrounding the real box office figure. It does not matter which figure you believe but its a big blockbuster and biggest hit for Hrithik Roshan.

Do wait for our article on this controversy and real truth behind ''Krrish 3'' box office figure.

Sunny Deol Furious As Dhariwal Delays Payment

Producer Mahendra Dhariwal rubbed Sunny Deol the wrong way, when both of them recently met at the Sunny’s Juhu office

Producer Mahendra Dhariwal rubbed Sunny Deol the wrong way, when both of them recently met at the Sunny’s Juhu office.

Apparently, both were involved in a war of words when Sunny got upset with Dhariwal over non-payment of his acting fees for the film ‘Bhaiyyaji Superhit’. The film is still incomplete, and as per reports,  Sunny has refused to complete the dubbing of the film unless he receives his dues.

A close source revealed - "If you sign a senior actor like Sunny, you should be professional about payments. Dhariwal is making Sunny run round in circles."

After intervention by the film’s director Neeraj Pathak, Dhariwal looked towards action director Tinu Verma for resolutions to the conflict. Reportedly, Verma was also of the view that he should make the payments to Sunny and get the film completed.

Asked about it,  Dhariwal confirmed that there was an unpleasant exchange of remarks between him and the actor after Sunny suggested that in case of non-payment the film should be released under his banner Vijeta Films.

Sonakshi further added – “As kids we knew he was in show business but didn't look beyond that. So it's great that today we three are reviving the banner. Dad's thrilled and proud of us.”

Apparently, Sonakshi Sinha is really excited about her upcoming release, Tigmanshu Dhulia's ‘Bullet Raja’.   There are also reports that Sonakshi has done folk and traditional dance in the upcoming project, starring  Saif Ali Khan.

Sonakshi made her debut as an actress in 'Dabangg' opposite Salman and was also part of the sequel.  Both the films were a huge hit at the box office.

YRF Defeats Ajay Devgn Films In Court Case Over Last Year Diwali Clash

The Competition Tribunal dismissed the appeal filed by Ajay Devgn Films (ADF) against the order of the Competition Commission exactly a year since 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' released on November 13, 2012.

The Competition Tribunal dismissed the appeal filed by Ajay Devgn Films (ADF) against the order of the Competition Commission exactly a year since 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' released on November 13, 2012.

After the Competition Commission had dismissed the complaint filed by ADF on the basis that they were of the opinion that there was no contravention of the Act in this case, the Competition Appellate Tribunal, in a order of November 8, 2012, also refused to pass any interim order against Yash Raj Films (YRF) on the ground that the complainant had not put forward sufficient facts to establish that YRF had violated the Competition Act.

According to a YRF spokesperson, a completely misleading press release was put out by ADF alleging that an enquiry had been set up to look into 'the anti-competitive activities of YRF' since the Competition Appellate Tribunal had not found any merit in the contention of ADF because the Tribunal was of the view that ADF had totally failed to establish that the agreements entered into by YRF with the single screens cinemas would cause any appreciable adverse effect on competition. It was also noted by the Tribunal that YRF had announced the release of its film on June 27, 2011 with its announcement of the release of its film for Diwali 2012 and commenced booking of single screen theatres in June, July & Aug 2012. On the contrary, ADF announced the release of its film only on May 29, 2012 and approached the single screen owners only in October 2012 by which time YRF had taken a lead. It was expressly noted that the number of screens contracted for 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan', being far less than that of 'Ek Tha Tiger', prima facie no case of adverse effect on competition, much less appreciable effect on competition, was made out.

Despite several media queries at that time, YRF had maintained a strict media silence while the matter was pending before the competent judicial authorities, deeming it inappropriate to comment on the matter while it was before the judicial authorities. YRF has never desired nor manipulated such unethical publicity as a film promotional device for itself.

It is unfortunate that our refusal to comment had led to aspersions being cast on YRF's business practices, which have always been ethical and of the highest standards.

On November 13, 2013, after considering and dismissing individually all the points raised by the Appellant, ADF, the Honourable Chairman, Justice V. S. Sirpurkar and the other Honourable Members of the Coram, Shri Rahul Sarin & Mrs. Pravin Tripathi, concluded that "there is no merit in this appeal and this appeal must be dismissed".

Dwayne Johnson Will Be Lost at Sea in ‘Not Without Hope’

Are “lost at sea” pics the trend of the moment? Ang Lee won an Oscar earlier this year for stranding Suraj Sharma in the middle of the Pacific, and J.C. Chandor and Robert Redford put out All Is Lost just last month. Plus, even as we speak, Angelina Jolie is shooting the World War II survival drama Unbroken and Ron Howard is plowing on with the Moby Dick-inspired In the Heart of the Sea.
Now Dwayne Johnson is the latest to jump on the aimlessly floating bandwagon. The G.I. Joe star has signed on to star in Relativity’s Not Without Hope, based on the real-life tale of four football players who get stuck at sea. Hit the jump for all the details.

‘Stalingrad’ Trailer: One of the Nastiest Battles Ever Fought Becomes a Big Action Movie

Stalingrad is Russia’s entry in the “giant war movie” category for 2013. It recreates the extraordinarily vicious and devastating WWII battle that shut down Hitler’s efforts on the eastern front. (And which has become the subject for many a video game battle scene.) But this isn’t just a big war movie; it’s a big war movie shot in IMAX and presented in 3D and rendered in familiar blue and orange.
Fedor Bondarchuk (9th Company, The Inhabited Island) directs, and has certainly made a big movie. Check out the trailer below to get a sense of the action, which seems like it has been polished up nicely to make the horrifying battle more visually appealing.

‘Noah’ Trailer: Russell Crowe Gets a Vision From God, Courtesy of Darren Aronofsky

Following yesterday’s juicy little teaser, not one but two full-length trailers for Darren Aronofsky‘s Noah have arrived, and you can check out both of them after the jump.
Russell Crowe stars as the familiar Biblical hero, who’s driven by a vision from God to prepare for an upcoming flood that could wipe out all life on Earth. He builds an ark and begins to round up the animals, but not everyone (including villain Ray Winstone) is on board with his plan.

‘Out of the Furnace’ TV Spot: You Don’t Want to Mess With Woody Harrelson

Woody Harrelson‘s last feature role was as a time-traveling turkey in the animated family flick Free Birds, but don’t let that trick you into thinking he’s lost his edge. The new TV spot for Scott Cooper‘s Out of the Furnace has arrived, and he’s full-on terrifying in it.
The gritty drama stars Christian Bale as Russell, a steel mill worker whose Iraq vet brother Rodney (Casey Affleck) falls into the criminal underworld and eventually disappears. When the police fail to find Rodney, Russell sets out to discover the truth for himself. Check out the new video after the jump.

‘Cuban Fury’ Trailer: Nick Frost Unleashes His Inner Dance Demon

Nick Frost has made a nice career of playing sidekicks and supporting characters, often alongside frequent collaborator Simon Pegg. But as his unexpected straight-man turn in The World’s End showed, the guy’s certainly got the chops to lead a movie of his own. In Cuban Fury, he gets the chance to do just that.
Directed by James Griffiths (NBC’s Up All Night) from an idea by Frost, the comedy follows a lonely sad-sack named Bruce (Frost) who’s crushing on his gorgeous new boss Julia (Rashida Jones). Because this is a movie, the only way he can win her over is by mastering the art of dance. Good thing he used to be a child prodigy at salsa dancing — now all Bruce needs to do is rediscover his inner passion. Check out the trailer after the jump.

RAM-LEELA Set For Good Opening With Fantastic Advance Booking

''Ram-Leela'' is set to release day after tomorrow fair share of controversies. Film is special because director Sanjay Leela is looking to redeem himself after couple of big flops (''Saanwariya'' & ''Guzaarish'')

RAM - LEELA Is Set For Good Opening

''Ram-Leela'' is set to release day after tomorrow fair share of controversies. Film is special because director Sanjay Leela is looking to redeem himself after couple of big flops (''Saanwariya'' & ''Guzaarish''). Ranveer Singh shown promise in his debut sleeper hit ''Band Baaja Baraat'' but faded with flop ''Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl'' and only critically acclaimed ''Lootera''.

Good news is that film has taken a super advance booking and at places it is as good as 40%. Delhi, Gujarat and parts of Mumbai will open big for sure but it will be the release size and word of mouth which will decide the final outcome.

As of now it is certain that film will open to minimum 35% occupancy day after in morning shows and 10 cr nett plus day one should be the minimum target from here on.

HC Grants Permission¸ Salman’s Foreign ‘KICK’ On

Salman Khan, who was earlier denied a visa to shoot for his upcoming film ‘Kick’, has finally been granted permission to travel abroad by the Rajasthan High Court

Salman Khan, who was earlier denied a visa to shoot for his upcoming film ‘Kick’, has finally been granted permission to travel abroad by the Rajasthan High Court.

In four separate cases, Salman Khan is accused of illegally hunting and killing two chinkaras and three blackbucks, endangered while the shoots of ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ were on in October 1998.

The cast and crew of ‘Kick’ including Sajid Nadiadwala were stationed in Glasgow awaiting Salman’s arrival for the shoot. However, Salman was stuck in Mumbai due to visa problems.

Asked about the latest developments, an overjoyed Nadiadwala commented - "Travelling abroad with Salman was always on top of my list and now with the court giving him the go ahead, I'm sure it will happen this time too."

KRRISH 3 Children’s Day Ticket Offer Cancelled?

Rakesh Roshan and the ‘Krrish 3’ team had earlier planned to make Children's Day special for the fans. And as per a report, ticket rates were to be slashed on Children's Day

Rakesh Roshan and the ‘Krrish 3’ team had earlier planned to make Children's Day special for the fans. And as per a report, ticket rates were to be slashed on Children's Day.

However, we have now learnt that the distributors and the exhibitors for the film failed to arrive at a consensus to reduce ticket prices for children’s day.

An executive of a multiplex chain in Mumbai disclosed - "There was a proposal to bring down the ticket rates of ‘Krrish 3’ on Children's Day. But November 14 also happens to be Moharram. We didn't want to lose out on holiday crowds for ‘Krrish 3’ a day before the release of ‘Ram-Leela’ when we expect a fall in footfalls for ‘Krrish 3’ anyway. So all fiscal relief for Children's Day stands cancelled."

Meanwhile, Rakesh Roshan has come forward and denied reports about the reduction in ticket prices. He said - "The distributors are working out a scheme for Children's Day. But we haven't decided what the scheme would be. Children's Day happens to coincide with Moharram this year, so it's a holiday. We'll soon make an announcement."

‘Independence Day 2′ Moved to Summer 2016, The 20th Anniversary of the Original Film

Briefly: Earlier today, 20th Century Fox moved around a bunch of their 2015 releases. One film conspicuously absent was Roland Emmerich‘s sequel, Independence Day 2. Well, it took a few more hours, but now the fate of that movie has been revealed. It’s still coming, but as some suspected, it has been moved back a whole year.
Independence Day 2 will now hit theaters July 1, 2016, not July 3, 2015. The new date just so happens to be almost 20 years to the day after the release of the original. Whether that was the happy coincidence, or if it’s to make room for Michael B. Jordan, or Will Smith, remains to be seen. But there’s now plenty more time to figure it all out.

Newcomer Travis Tope Could Lead Jason Reitman’s ‘Men, Women and Children’

Jason Reitman has worked with some pretty big names over the course of his career, including, most recently, Kate Winslet and Josh Brolin. His next film, however, could star a near-total unknown.
The filmmaker has reportedly offered a big role in Men, Women and Children to newcomer Travis Tope. Though the 22-year-old has just one completed feature on his resume at the moment (the 2007 indie Divine Souls), he’s definitely on his way up: Tope is also considering roles in Sacha Gervasi‘s November Criminals and Rupert Wyatt‘s The Gambler. More about all three projects and their potential leading man after the jump.

‘Maleficent’ Teaser Trailer & Images: Disney Sends Angelina Jolie to the Dark Side

In the original Sleeping Beauty, there’s little debate that Maleficent is one nasty fairy. She curses a child to death; she kidnaps a prince; she refers to herself as “the Mistress of All Evil,” for crying out loud.
But Disney’s upcoming Maleficent aims to muddy that perception a bit. In this live-action retelling, Maleficent (played by Angelina Jolie) starts out as a perfectly sweet gal before tragedy hardens her heart. The first trailer for this dazzling fantasy has just hit the web, and you can watch it after the jump.

Watch the First Epic Footage From Darren Aronofsky’s ‘Noah’ [Updated With Poster]

Paramount and Darren Aronofsky were still sparring over the third act of Noah, last we heard, but with the Biblical epic scheduled for a spring release it’s about time for the first trailer to land. Which, per the modern movie marketing playbook, means they’re starting off with a trailer for the trailer.
The clip is less than 20 seconds long, but it makes the most of that time. You’ve got Russell Crowe as Noah considering his visions, a few lovely shots of the ark, quick peeks at co-stars Jennifer Connelly and Logan Lerman, and more. Check it out after the jump.
[Update: A new poster has also been revealed -- see it after the jump!]

‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ Review: A Worthy Sequel That Improves on the Original

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire isn’t your typical blockbuster sequel. Yes it’s bigger and better than the original movie. The stakes have been raised and new characters are added. But what makes Catching Fire unique is how it’s infused with a gravitas most major Hollywood entertainment lacks. At every single turn, the plight of the citizens of Panem is felt as they face the cruel tyranny of the Capitol, adding layers of pathos and tension to everything we see. Couple that with the impressive IMAX visuals and a more surprising story, and Catching Fire joins that rare breed of sequels that improve on the original.
